Man in hospital after alleged assault in Waterford City last night

A man’s been hospitalised following a “serious assault” in Waterford City last night.

It’s reported to have happened on Hanover Street shortly before 9pm.

The male, aged in his fifties, was taken to University Hospital Waterford where his condition’s been described as serious but stable.

Anybody with information or dashcam footage is asked to contact Gardaí.
