The Kilkenny carer of the year has been named today as Mary Maher.
Mary, who cares with her husband David for their son Michael is being celebrated at a special event in the Town Hall this afternoon.
Catherine Cox of Family Carers Ireland says its hugely well deserved:
“An amazing lady who has battled, fought everything possible, both herself and David for their son Michael to get the supports that they need,” said Catherine.
