Junior Minister Jennifer Murnane O’Connor says there is a great sense of camaraderie within Fianna Fáil.
She made the comments as An Taoiseach Micheál Martin and former party members—including former Taoiseach Brian Cowen—gathered in Carlow yesterday for a commemorative event to mark the party’s centenary.
Minister Murnane O’Connor says she has a real love for politics and the people she represents.
“We have a great sense of camaraderie in our Fianna Fáil party. While we have our challenges, we know that too. But there’s a great, lovely, loyal people in it.” said Jennifer.
“People that work extremely hard, and people that you never know work in the background, people that just do it for, that they want to do it, and people like that you’d see today here that you mightn’t see again for maybe a year’s time, but you know when you need them, they’re there.”
“So I’m so honoured. And look, I know no different, I was answering the door when my dad was a councillor and I used to be answered the door when people would come and I used to start making the reps, and I really have a love of politics and I’m so honoured to be here to mark 100 years of Fianna Fáil.” she added.
