The latest homeless figures for Carlow Kilkenny are mixed with a significant increase in Kilkenny while there’s a drop in Carlow.
That’s according to the latest homeless report published for January by the Housing Department.
It states there were 45 adults accessing emergency accomodation in Kilkenny, that’s up from 35 in December 2024.
The numbers decreased slightly in Carlow falling to 38 from 42 during the same period.
Numbers across the South East continue to increase with 119 in Waterford, 74 in Tipperary, and 57 in Wexford.
Over 15,200 people are homeless nationally – it’s the highest number on record and 4,603 of those are children.
