There’s been mixed reaction to yesterday’s roads funding allocations for our locality.
€29million was pledged to Kilkenny with almost €11million to Carlow (see below for each county’s breakdown) with senior politicians locally quick to praise the monies.
And while the figures are substantial, hopes were high that more monies would come the way of both counties for other projects.
However, with calls long made for an upgrade to the N25, in particular along a problematic 9km stretch between Slieverue and Glenmore, the N25 Road Safety Group’s Dick Murphy’s been telling KCLR News’ Dermot Keyes that the €400,000 coming their way is welcome;
€600,000 has been earmarked for the nearby N24 – Cllr Pat Dunphy says it’s a slow process;
His Callan counterpart was delighted too with funding for that town and its Bypass;
Stay tuned for more reaction from both counties.
