Naomh Bríd have kept their JJ Kavanagh Carlow Senior Hurling Championship semi-final hopes alive after a 1-24 to 1-15 victory over Bagenalstown Gaels at Netwatch Cullen Park last night.
The result leaves Naomh Bríd with a route into the last four, but they will need to beat Naomh Eoin next weekend and hope Bagenalstown Gaels lose to St Mullins.
Both games throw in at 6pm next Saturday.
Naomh Bríd face Naomh Eoin in Fenagh, while Bagenalstown Gaels meet St Mullins at Netwatch Cullen Park.
Despite the defeat, Bagenalstown manager Peter Doyle says his side still have everything to play for.
“The thing is we are still there. We are not gone yet, we will have another go next week.
“If we can beat St Mullins next week we are in a semi-final. We live to fight another day and we move on.”
It sets up a dramatic final round in the Carlow Senior Hurling Championship, with both games taking place simultaneously next Saturday evening.
