BEAM are set to open a new centre in Carlow.
The service, which provides training and support for people with intellectual disabilities, is currently based on Regent Street in Bagenalstown.
From September, however, they will also be operating from newly-converted premises in the town’s Market Square.
John Murphy, BEAM’s Director of Strategic Planning and Development, says the pandemic has highlighted the need for this expansion of their service.
“We’ve had difficulties, like everyone else, during the Covid lockdown. But we’ve used that time to put plans in place for post-Covid and for our future needs and challenges, so from September we’re opening a new service on the Square” he explains. “It’s an added day service to the centre, and it’s also going to be an employability programme called the Endeavour Programme, which will combine with our gardens”
