It’s Daffodil Day and we’re being called on to support where and how we can.

The annual fundraiser from the Irish Cancer Society sees flowers being sold, events taking place and collections in workplaces and libraries to help fund the vital work done by the organisation’s team.
You can donate via cancer.ie or the Revolut app too in a bid to help the group raise €30million needed to provide key services and life-changing cancer research.
Last year, the Irish Cancer Society Transport Service, which brings patients to and from cancer treatment across the country, delivered almost 30,000 free lifts for cancer patients, our Freephone Support Line and in-hospital Daffodil Centres provided over 26,000 comforting conversations – offering advice, support and information for anyone affected by cancer.
Their free nationwide counselling service provided over 14,300 free counselling sessions to help people cope with a cancer diagnosis in their life. In addition to this, almost 6,000 nights of palliative Night Nursing/ end-of-life care were given to patients so they could pass away in the comfort of their homes, surrounded by their loved ones.
Night nurse Josephine Kelly outlined the importance of the monies on The KCLR Daily:
