Speed limit review to be carried out for roads in South Kilkenny

A speed limit review is going to be carried out for the roads in South Kilkenny.

Councillors in the area have been calling for the existing limits to be re-examined due to safety concerns.

Cathaoirleach of the Piltown District Pat Dunphy says it’ll be open for submissions from the public so people should have their say.

A planned review of local speed limits currently only covers secondary local roads in the area with national roads under the remit of Transport Infrastructure Ireland.

Cllr Pat Dunphy says they want to be able to review the speed limits on primary national roads too and not leave it all up to Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
