Residents left in the dark over contamination of Graiguenamanagh water supply

Questions are being raised over why residents in Graiguenamanagh weren’t told about contamination in their water supply.

The local treatment plant was shut down last week after levels of the parasite Cryptosporidium were found in the water.

KCLR news revealed yesterday that Environmental Protection Agency and the HSE were both informed last week, but those using the water in Graiguenamanagh were not told at all.

Local Councillor Peter Cleere says that not informing people of this danger is not acceptable.
