The response to the issues around speeding in Grange is just not good enough.
So says local councillor, John Pender, once it transpired that little more will be done to combat the issue after the speed limit is reduced from 60 to 50 kilometres per hour.
For the past year locals have been actively campaigning to have measures put in place to slow drivers down – who they say are treating the road like an extension of the motorway.
At the end of 2016, flashing speed signs were put in place near the school which have shown that about 66,000 vehicles – doing an average of 81 kilometres per hour – have passed through there.
Speaking to KCLR News at yesterday’s council meeting, John Pender says he believes there are a number of other steps that could be taken such as rumble strips.
