River Nore crossing in Thomastown could finally be getting a name

The main bridge crossing of the River Nore in Thomastown could finally be getting a name.

It’s never had an official title since it was built and is the main road through the town en route to Waterford.

Local councillor David Kennedy says it has to be passed by members of the Council at a meeting this week and it looks like they might have a name approved.

Its hoped it will be called after Nicholas Mullins, a local man shot and killed by the British forces in 1921.
