Carlow’s new Director of Services for housing says the county’s social housing refusal rate isn’t out of the ordinary.
Yesterday we reported how 40% of offers to those on the local authority’s list were turned down in 2025 and it seems the figure so far this year a third have been refused.
Claire Hartley’s been telling KCLR News’ Martin Quilty that repeated unreasonable refusals can lead to suspension from the housing list for up to 12 months but that the local rate of refusal is not unusual;
