Solar farm given the green light in Kilkenny

Kilkenny’s to get a new solar farm and storage park.
The county council’s granted planning permission to Elgin Energy Services Limited for the facility at Brownstown.
The 112 hectare site will include a 110kilovolt substation, 50 inverter substations as well as 20 turning bays and CCTV cameras at 60 locations.
It’s for a period of 10 years with an operational time of 40 years.
