UPDATE (11:45am, Thursday, 6th March): two people have now been taken to University Hospital Waterford ‘as a precaution’ and the route’s expected to be impassable until lunchtime as the scene’s cleared.

Emergency services have been dealing with another crash in south Kilkenny.
The two-car incident happened at about 9:30am this morning on the R448 between Ballyhale and Mullinavat.
Paramedics were called to care for one person involved but it’s understood their injuries are not life threatening.
It’s as another crash happened in Piltown yesterday.
