Kilkenny senior hurler Mossy Keoghan recently spoke to the KCLR Hurling Podcast, offering an insight into the Cats’ National League campaign, their upcoming clash with Tipperary, and his own ambitions for the season ahead.
Keoghan highlighted Kilkenny’s steady league form, stressing its importance in building momentum and refining their game ahead of the championship.
“The league is tough week on week, but at the same time, you have to prepare yourself for that setup of constant matches when it comes to the round-robin stages of the championship. We’re doing well with two wins, but there’s definitely room for improvement.”
As they prepare to face Tipperary at home this weekend, Keoghan recognized the intensity of the rivalry and the importance of the fixture.
“The rivalry is still there. I know we probably haven’t played each other as much in recent years, but it’s definitely still there. It’s the next match, so it’s the most important match. Tipp are probably the most in-form team at the moment, so it’s a big challenge for us.”
On a personal level, Keoghan is pleased with his form, enjoying his hurling, and eager to maintain momentum while striving for further improvement.
“When you’re in this good a form you’re enjoying it so much that you just want the matches to keep coming. You’d be worried about losing the form throughout the year but hopefully I can maybe even improve on what I’m doing at the moment”.
