Thomastown preparing to host 60 Newfoundland visitors

Final preparations are being put in place in Thomastown ahead of the arrival of 60 visitors next week.

They’ll arrive from Newfoundland on the East Coast of Canada on the 18th of August and will spend three days in the locality.

Host families will look after over 60 visitors.

There’s a range of events planned for the duration of their stay – which was organised by Ireland Newfoundland Connections – including concerts, tours of the area and a civic reception.

Speaking to KCLR about the arrival of their Canadian guests, Seamus Quigley says it wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of locals
