TJ Reid says Shamrocks Ballyhale are delighted to be back on the pitch as the St Canice’s Credit Union Kilkenny Senior League gets underway.
Ballyhale needed an injury-time goal to overcome Erins Own in their opening game of the campaign at the weekend, eventually securing victory in a hard-fought contest.
Their next challenge comes against O’Loughlin Gaels next Sunday, with that game live on KCLR.
Speaking on the KCLR Hurling Podcast, Reid praised the attitude shown by the Shamrocks players as they battled right until the final whistle.
“I know Davey, (David Buggy Erins Own manager) well. He has six or seven minors from last year blended in, so we knew it was going to be a tough game and it was.
“We fought until the end. Attitude was spot on from the players.”
The victory gives Shamrocks an ideal start to their senior league campaign, but another major test awaits when they meet O’Loughlin Gaels next Sunday.
