The Borris Festival of Writing and Ideas is celebrating its 14th year and continues to attract audiences from across Ireland and beyond.
The festival, which takes place in the County Carlow village features dozens of writers, musicians and speakers, with up to 30 events taking place each day.
This year’s tickets have already sold out, although organisers say returned tickets may become available through Eventbrite ahead of the event.
Co Founder Hugo Jellet says he never expected the festival to be so popular, “when we started, it was a amateurish and we didn’t know what we were doing and in a way that naivety created its early charm
and then it just gathered pace really slowly.”
“We were patient with it. There was never a rush. We always tried to keep it small and it just made its way into everyone’s hearts, and that’s really why it does well each year,” he explained.
