Kilkenny’s Martin Keoghan has been named GAA.ie Player of the Week following his stellar performance in the Cats’ Allianz League victory over Clare in Ennis on Sunday.
The Tullaroan star was instrumental in the win, scoring five points in tough conditions at Cusack Park. His efforts also earned him a spot on the GAA Team of the Week, alongside Young Ireland’s Mikey Carey.
Up next for Kilkenny is a clash with Galway at UPMC Nowlan Park this Sunday, with live coverage on KCLR.
Speaking on the KCLR Hurling Podcast after the win in Ennis, Keoghan reflected on the team’s hard-fought victory:
“You’d definitely be fairly content after that match. Coming down to Clare, this is what they are good at. What they won the All-Ireland last year off was their work rate and their doggedness. So we battled it out in the end and got the win, which we are definitely happy with, coming out the right side of a match like that.”
