Over 1,000 locals sign petition protesting insurance cost hikes

A Kilkenny Sinn Féin Councillor says the rising insurance premiums for local drivers is unacceptable.

Councillor Sean Tyrrell was speaking after they got in the region of 1,500 signatures on a petition against the price hikes – outside city hall.

He says since taking his seat on the council earlier this year, he’s received numerous calls and complaints from people whose premiums have skyrocketed.

Speaking to KCLR news, Councillor Tyrrell says the rise in vehicle insurance premiums just isn’t acceptable.
