.18 days of road works are to start in Co Carlow today.
The L2012 will not be accessible between its junctions with the R727 (Downings) and Brother Leo Park (GAA) on the Ballymurphy Road in Tullow today (Monday) until 3pm.
Its as localised drainage improvement works take place at sites along the route in advance of resurfacing which is scheduled for later this year.
Subject to weather, the works are due to run between 8am and 4:30pm with a full closure between 9:30am and 3:30pm (today) followed by priority/yield system with a temporary single lane closure each day to Friday, 29th March (inclusive).
The county council says residential and land owner access to adjoining properties will be maintained but there’ll be no through-traffic on the stretch during the times noted.
Added to that, delays can be expected in and around the area – you’re advised to use the following alternative routes;
- R727/R726 to Killerrig Cross and left onto the R418 and straight onto R725 to Tullow and vice versa
- N81 from Tullow to Kill(magarvoge) Cross and left onto the R726 to Downings and vice versa
