Carlow and Kilkenny are set to benefit from the latest round of national roads funding, with €633 million allocated for the country’s national road network.
This year’s funding marks an increase of €92 million compared to the figure for 2024.
Kilkenny County Council will receive €6,582,426, while Carlow County Council will get €1,455,653.
The funding aims to support the maintenance of the existing national road network, as well as facilitate the advancement of major projects currently in the development pipeline.
Of the €633 million announced today, €33 million will be allocated to local authorities for the regular maintenance of their national roads.
Transport Minister Darragh O’Brien stated that this funding will enhance regional connectivity and alleviate traffic congestion in towns across the country.
