Over 30,000 visitors expected in Kilkenny for Cat Laughs Festival this weekend

Around 30 thousand visitors are expected to visit Kilkenny this weekend for one of the country’s biggest comedy festivals.

The first Cat Laughs Festival was held in Kilkenny back in 1995 and now boasts a packed programme of national and international comedians.

This year’s event officially launched last night but gets under way in earnest from today with a line-up including Karl Spain, Neil Delamare, Colm O’Regan and PJ Gallagher.

One of the highlights this year is Cat Laughs Goes to the Races at Gowran Park and organiser, Naoise Nunn says he hopes it’ll be something they can continue over the coming years.
