Thomastowns plans to put themselves on the map as a top food destination have been given a boost today.
Its almost a year since they were revealed as Kilkennys Town of Food and since then they have been working on a plan.
It emerged in December that they were granted permission to use Ladywell National school as their new home and today its been announced that the funding they require to do that has been granted.
375 thousand euro worth of funding has been sanctioned now to develop the old school in the town for their new innovation hub and training centre.
Secretary Mags Morrissey says they still have to fundraise themselves but it was great to secure this funding.
