It was a great pleasure to meet Aidan Knight after enjoying his latest album “Each Other” for the previous few months. It’s a stunning collection of musical ideas, subtle changes and powerful sounds. Lyrically it’s deeply rewarding to delve in to also. He’s an engaging conversationalist and you’ll hear how deeply he thinks about his craft in particular. He was also humbled by the response to it and live on his first visit to Ireland. Really, in my opinion, the album is as close to perfect as it gets. We chat about the making of it, how music and technology affects him and his deep respect for other musical art forms and storytelling.
All in all, a remarkable artist and storyteller. He played two songs live in Studio 2 on a Fender Telecaster guitar put through a Fender DeVille amp, a perfect combination for the guitar aficionado and, if that was not enough, delivered one of the most amazing musical sucker punches I’ve ever experienced.
