Gardaí are warning you to leave the car at home this Christmas if you’re going for a festive drink.

It comes after over 340 people have been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving so far this month – since the Road Safety Authority and Gardaí launched their road safety appeal.

That’s an increase of 35% compared to the same time last year.

Michael Finn is Assistant Garda Commissioner, he says Gardaí will be out in force over the Christmas period, and people should never drink and drive.
