A protest – being dubbed the biggest in the South East for a number of years – takes place in Waterford this afternoon.
It comes as the Government’s being accused of trying to “fudge” the need for a 24/7 cath lab in Waterford by providing a mobile one instead.
It was announced yesterday by Minister John Halligan that he’d received assurances from the Health Minister that a mobile lab would be in place within weeks.
Locals are now being urged to take part in the protest that gets underway at 2 o’clock this afternoon.
Speaking to KCLR news, Hillary O’Neill from the South East Advocacy group says a mobile cath lab isn’t enough.
