A new Road Safety Plan for Carlow will be revealed this afternoon.
Carlow County Council’s Road Safety Plan 2017 – 2020 sets out targets, approaches, challenges and objectives.
It was compiled in association with the Gardaí, the Road Safety Authority, Department of Transport, Transport Infrastructure Ireland and the HSE.
The document profiles the county, its roads and casualties, and details the stakeholders.
Critical success factors are also outlined, as well as setting out an action plan under the headings of education, engineering, enforcement and evaluation.
It’s hoped plans such as these can eliminate fatalities, with the road safety together group set to meet regularly to monitor progress towards their goals.
