Carlow teenager Shauntelle Tynan is making her way back to Texas today.

She’s travelling to receive treatment for a rare form of cancer, hystiocytosis-x.

A go-fund-me page to raise money for her treatment surpassed €700,000 earlier this week, following Shauntelle’s viral video appealing for help.

A post on her Facebook page this morning says she’s “heading back for one week before the big move in a few weeks”

She says “some important appointments have to be done next week” and she’s thanked the public for all their help and says “it’s the most unbelievable thing to ever happen” to her.
