Gardaí are on the hunt for a man and a woman after an attempted armed robbery in Carlow.

At a quarter to 3 last Sunday the pair went into Hegarty’s Store at the Riverside Estate on the Hanover Road brandishing a knife.
He ordered that the contents of the till be handed over however they were spooked and ended up leaving the store with nothing.
They made off in an old silver Toyota Corolla and Sergeant Ted Hughes has this description of them…
