Kilkenny student scoops top award for app aimed at helping children with autism

A local student is part of a team that’s scooped a top award at the BT Young Scientist Business Bootcamp.

16-year-old Ella Brennan from Loreto Secondary School in Kilkenny, along with her 4 team-mates claimed the top accolade for their autism app called ‘Mi Contact’.

It’s based on behaviour analysis and helps with early intervention programmes, and also helps encourage children with Autism to make eye contact.

It’s hoped that following the bootcamp they’ll now be able to turn this into a viable business.
