An email scam is doing the rounds in Carlow

You’re being urged to be on alert for more scam emails doing the rounds in Carlow.

Locals have contacted KCLR to say that they’re getting emails that seem to be from Irish Water.

They claim that you owe money to Irish Water and ask you to download the bill attached.

However, the email address isn’t actually from Irish Water.

Irish Water warned of a similar scam back in January 2016 and at the time advised anyone who receives these emails to delete them immediately. Do not reply or click on the link provided and do not provide any personal or financial details.

The company said it never asks customers for financial information in this way.
