Gardaí investigating after woman hit with glass bottle to the head in Kilkenny City

Kilkenny Gardaí are investigating after a woman was assaulted in the City at the weekend.

At about 2.10 on Sunday morning the woman was struck on the head by a glass bottle that had been thrown at her on Maudlin Street.

Garda Paul Donoghue says they believe the woman was an innocent bystander and are looking for any witnesses to come forward.

He told KCLR there was CCTV in the area as well that they’re currently going through.
