A Carlow man who lost his son to suicide says it’s so important to get people talking.

Wally Coleman has been speaking to KCLR Live as Carlow and Kilkenny prepare to welcome the national Cycle Against Suicide this year.

The cyclists will stop in Carlow Town and Kilkenny City as they make their way around Ireland from April 23rd to May 6th.

The aim is to raise awareness of the help and supports that are there for anyone battling depression, self-harm, at risk of suicide or those bereaved by suicide.

Wally’s son, Ben, died in 2013 – he says it’s still difficult to talk about it.
