Prizes handed out by Carlow Historical and Archaeological Society to local children last night

Prizes were handed out by the Carlow Historical and Archaelogical Society last night to winners of the local primary school history project competition.

David Bolger from Bishop Foley NS won 1st prize with a project on Milford Mills.  Eva Jones, Ballinkillen NS came in second with a project on the Knockroe Bombing 1941 and Rory Leen, Ballinkillen NS wond 3rd Prize with a project on Corries.

Emma Carbery, of Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál was Highly Commended for her project on Dan Carbery 1904 – 1957 – her great grandfather.
