The Carlow Kilkenny area has the second highest amount of people in the country subscribed to community text alerts.
Demand for the service has doubled nationally over the last two years with 15,026 signed up across the two counties with only Tipperary topping that at 21,540.
Locally there are 58 text alert schemes in place.
Crime Prevention officer Sergeant Peter McConnon says the local Gardai are targeting all areas to try and keep raising the figures.
