Fianna Fail TD for Carlow and Kilkenny Bobby Aylward said Minister of State Finian McGrath has assured him that every resident of the Camphill Ballytobin Community will be looked after by the HSE.
It follows HIQA’s decision to cancel their registration saying its now involved in a legal process over serious concerns they have about safety and the quality of service there.
The running of the Kilkenny centre for adults with special needs will transfer to the HSE – a process that has already started with Camphill committing to a smooth transition for its 19 residents and their families.
Bobby Alyward said he has spoken to families of residents who are anxious that their loved ones continue to receive care at the centre there.
He says Minister for Disabilities Finian McGrath has given him assurances about the residents.
