Kilkenny City Gardaí investigating assault of man in the Butterslip this afternoon

Kilkenny Gardaí are investigating after a man was assaulted in the Butterslip between Kieran Street and High Street in Kilkenny City this afternoon.

It happened at about 3.10pm and a number of people are understood to have been in the area at the time.

Gardaí say it was as the result of a row involving at least three people.
