An overnight sit-in and a picket are being organised in Callan this week in response to the imminent closure of their community childcare facility.
Yesterday KCLR News reported that a ‘Notice to Quit’ had been served to the facility run by the Droichead Family Resource Centre by landlords, Callan Community Network Limited.
Parents and friends of the centre are now saying they’re not going to take this decision lying down and have planned a protest at the site for tomorrow night and during the day on Friday.
Organiser, Claire Somers told KCLR News they’re not going to let this go without a fight.
Meanwhile, both Callan Community Network and the Droichead Centre have said they won’t be commenting publicly on the matter at the moment for legal reasons.
