Gardai have discovered around 1.2 million euro in cash after stopping a car in Carlow yesterday.
Officers were carrying out a number of checkpoints in the county as part of Operation Thor.

They stopped a car being driven by man in his 50s at Ballyvergal shortly before 8pm and discovered the cash during the course of a search.
A man was arrested and is currently being detained at Carlow Garda Station.
Investigations are ongoing.
