Kilkenny mother to receive Lord Mayor’s Medal

A Kilkenny mother is to receive the Lord Mayors Medal at the Dublin Marathon this weekend.

Mairéad Tywang took up running following the death of her daughter in January 2016 and has since raised €60,000 for the charity Aoibheann’s Pink Tie that helped her and the family through Searlait’s illness.

Mairéad will take on her first marathon in Dublin on Sunday.
