One of Kilkenny’s bigger employers has announced they’ve now been bought by a UK group.
Merlyn Industries, which is based on the Dublin Road in Kilkenny, has been bought by ‘Norcros Plc’ for 60 million pounds.
There is no risk to local staff of Merlyn Showering in Kilkenny.
So says their management after the announcement today that UK bathroom and accessories group ‘Norcros’ have bought the company.
Merlyn – which was founded in 2000 – currently employs 58 staff here, and a further 25 between the UK and Asia.
In a statement to KCLR News today the company says there are “absolutely no plans to move the business anywhere, and the business will continue to be run by the current management team here in Kilkenny.”
Founder of Merlyn, Michael Hoyne has said this acquisition will help drive the business on to the next level.
The whole process is expected to be complete by the 23rd of this month.
