Visitors to St Luke’s Hospital for Carlow/Kilkenny asked to make visits as brief as possible

Anyone planning on visiting St Luke’s Hospital for Carlow/Kilkenny is being asked to strictly obey the visiting hours.

It’s after the hospital saw an increase again this week in the number of people presenting with flu which is also impacting on the availability of beds.

According to the INMO, yesterday there were 25 people on trolleys in the local emergency department.

There had previously been a visitor ban in place which was subsequently lifted.

The hospital says that hasn’t been brought back in but people are now being asked to try not to stay too long when they are visiting people.
