Sheepish rescue mission in Kilkenny as Thomastown Gardaí help ewe and newborn lamb

Local Gardaí have been involved in a rather sheepish rescue mission.

They had received calls of possible animal neglect relating to a farm in the Thomastown area.

Their members along with the Department of Agriculture staff went to the land and discovered a ewe which was just after giving birth to a lamb down in a pit and they weren’t able to get out.

Sergeant Griffin from Thomastown Garda Station climbed down and retrieved the animals and they say they’re both safe and well now.
