A house being rented by IT Carlow students has been completely destroyed by a fire.
It broke out at around midnight on Wednesday night when the students were asleep.
Carlow’s Fire Services attended the scene in Monacurragh, off the Blackbog Road and all the students escaped uninjured.
However, as the video below shows, most of the house and its contents were destroyed – including almost all of the students’ belongings.
It remains to be seen what assistance can be provided by IT Carlow and its students union to those affected.
In the meantime, the Woodford Dolmen have agreed to sponsor rooms for the students who need them.
