Calls for CCTV along Kilkenny’s River Nore to tackle illegal dumping

Rubbish being dumped in Kilkenny’s River Nore is at the worst level it’s been at in a long time.

So says Councillor Patrick O’Neill who’s calling for cameras to be installed at access points along the river to tackle the problem.

CCTV is often installed at dumping blackspots elsewhere and he says he can’t see any reason it can’t be done for the Nore.

He’ll be raising the matter with council executives at next week’s Municipal District meeting in Kilkenny.
