Firefighter arrested in Kilkenny on suspicion of drink driving

A firefighter was arrested in Kilkenny over the bank holiday weekend on suspicion of drink driving while on duty.

He was driving a fire truck on the Callan Road where he was stopped at a checkpoint at around 12:30 on Sunday morning.

Gardai say a fixed charge penalty notice will be issued in relation to the incident.
