Planning permission has now been sought for a new development by Abbott Ireland in Kilkenny.
The global healthcare giant revealed investment plans in the city back in August that could see upwards of 800 new jobs for the city.
An application has now been submitted to the county council for the new manufacturing facility which will be located in the IDA Business and Technology Park in Loughboy.
The proposed development would comprise part one and part two storeys with a gross floor area of 29,490 sqm with a maximum parapet height of c.16.3m. And the plan is to accommodate assembly rooms, an electron-beam sterilization area, support and staff welfare facilities, kitchen and dining facilities, warehouse/storage space, and an ancillary office space of 4,645sq.m at ground and first floor levels.
Car parking for 520 vehicles nad 236 bicycles too is included.
