As part of the ongoing urban regeneration efforts in Carlow Town, An Garda Síochána has launched a public consultation process in connection with the installation of CCTV along the newly pedestrianised route. This initiative is part of a wider project aimed at improving the safety and infrastructure in the area.
The focus of the consultation is the pedestrian route stretching from Carlow Train Station, along Saint Joseph’s Road, and adjacent to Saint Catherine’s Community Centre. The route continues through Saint Leo’s College, Saint Patrick’s College, and leads up to College Street.
This project, which includes the installation of safety railings and CCTV cameras, is designed to enhance the security and accessibility of the area for pedestrians, while supporting the wider regeneration of Carlow Town.
Residents, businesses, and local groups are encouraged to participate in the consultation process.
